Clear, practical guidance for assessors

This course is for assessors who want to feel more confident about the JCQ access arrangements process without working through a full access arrangements training course aimed at SENCos. You will learn how to:  • understand where the assessor fits within the centre’s process  • recognise when assessment evidence is needed  • check that Part 1 is in place before assessment  • choose test evidence that matches the arrangement being considered  • complete Form 8 Part 2 accurately  • avoid common errors that can undermine evidence  • liaise effectively with the SENCo or Access Arrangements Coordinator  • word recommendations carefully in diagnostic assessment reports

Who is this course for?

This course is suitable for:  • specialist teacher assessors with a current APC  • access arrangements assessors with appropriate Level 7 qualification  • HCPC-registered psychologists assessing for access arrangements  • diagnostic assessors who need to understand how JCQ access arrangements recommendations should be handled  • external assessors working with schools, colleges, or training providers  • internal assessors working in centres Please note: This is not a qualification to become an access arrangements assessor.
